Collection: Aromatherapy and Sound Therapy

What are they?

Everyone has heard of aromatherapy or sound therapy , but not everyone knows what they are. Most people think of wellness and pleasant scents when they think of aromatherapy, and of music when they think of sound therapy . And that's right! But it's much broader than that...

Aromatherapy focuses on maintaining and promoting health using essential oils. The life force that is collected in these oils is, as it were, transferred to the patient and will contribute to restoring the natural balance in his or her body. Each oil is antiseptic to a certain extent and also has specific properties that focus on one or more organs and/or conditions. This is a selective process in which only harmful bacteria are eliminated, while the harmless and useful ones remain untouched. Essential oils are absorbed by the body via inhalation, the skin or the esophagus and leave it through the skin, urine or feces.

Sound Healing is a sound therapy that uses vibrations and frequencies of sounds to synchronize brain waves. Our bodies are largely made up of water (approximately 75%). As a result, sound and vibrations are naturally conducted throughout the body. This creates a deep sense of relaxation that calms the vibrational frequencies in our bodies. In Ayurvedic healing traditions, sound and hearing are used along with the other senses to determine the quality of our thoughts and emotions. Conversely, people who live in busy, noisy urban areas often experience increased stress and lowered immunity. Because Sound Healing has a relaxing effect on the body, it has a beneficial effect on recovery after illness or surgery.
